Mitchell Oates received an award for Apprentice Scaffolder of the Year 2016
Mitchell who has been employed as an Apprentice Scaffolder since November 2014 having left school and attended CITB National Construction College has now achieved his level 2 NVQ. He was presented with this award by CCTG following nomination by CITB

LTC Specialist Scaffolding have made it to the finals of the NASC Project Of The Year Awards for UKHO, Taunton – Bam Construction. The awards recognise the exceptional working practices and technical capabilities of the NASC members.
The way we work
The Health of our employees is of upmost importance. We employ the services of an Occupational Health Advisor to carry out “fit for work” medicals to all operatives at the recommended intervals dependant on roles and age. We have also installed defibrillators to all our depots.

We have a policy that all our operatives either have to be CISRS qualified ( Scaffolder or Advanced ) or training to become qualified and do not employ labourers. This policy ensures our operatives are continuingly improving their knowledge and skills whilst promoting the employment of apprentices
LTC over many years have looked to be at the “ forefront” of the scaffolding industry. Our most recent project was to look at alternatives to the timber scaffold boards. The negative of the timber board is the warping, twisting, splitting of the board and the fact that they become slippery in the winter and that standard boards are not fire retardant. We have invested over £500k in new metal boards which have a unique clipping system ( metal on metal doesn’t work) and have worked with PCP and Green poly for nearly 2 years to develop a robust protection cap to improve the Health and Safety of the product.
We firmly believe that our policy of only employing directly employed operatives and staff enables us to provide continuity to our clients to ensure our employees know our client’s individual requirements which also results in increased Quality Control.
As we are in a high risk industry and safety is a critical part of our working procedures we have a drugs and alcohol policy which includes pre-employment screening and random testing. Once again this sets us apart from many of our competitors
