 'Longest Drive' and 'Closest to the Pin' Competitions

 Nick Rowe of Morgan Ashurst won two competitions , 'Longest drive' and 'Closest to the pin' for the LTC team on the CIOB Golf Day in aid of the Lighthouse Charity.

COINS 3 Peaks Challenge

Was carried out by staff at Dean & Dyball Construction in April 2007
The event involves climbing the three highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales within 24 hours and teams participating make a commitment to raise a minimum of £6,000 on behalf of CARE international Ltd.(One of the worlds top three aid agencies.)
LTC provided sponsorship towards the charity.

Coast to Coast Sponsored Walk 15th-18th September 2006

The walk was carried out by 6 HBG Western Region Staff
They walked 72miles from Wallsend to Carlisle along the route of the Hadrian’s Wall National Trail in 3.5 days
The charities they were supporting were:
- The Children’s Hospice South West ‘Babes Big Appeal’ to build & equip a 2nd childrens hospice
- Ty Hafan – Wales only children’s hospice
LTC provided sponsorship toward the 2 charities
Their event as a whole raised approx. £7000.00 for charity

Childrens Hospice South West 'BIG South West Walk' - 16th June 2007

Walk carried out by staff of HBG Western
They completed a challenging route from Budleigh Salterton and Seaton, a distance of 18 miles
LTC provided sponsorship towards the charity.

Shelterbox Challenge - 14th April 2007

In aid of the charity Shelter Box who provide boxes of material & shelters for people displaced by natural and other disasters around the world.
The Challenge involves a team of four carrying a Shelterbox over a 30 mile organised route in Dartmoor over 2 days.

Flora London Marathon - Showdon Award Scheme - Sunday 13th April 2008

We sponsored Andy Huddart and Linda Frampton of Barratt Homes to complete the marathon.
The charity supported was The Snowdon Award Scheme which assists disabled students
The 2 runners raised an estimated £6,500 in total for the charity.

25th Dartmoor Charity Jailbreak - 19th April 2008

In aid of ; Vranch House in Exeter which cares for children with cerebral palsy
And The Chestnut Appeal which helps patients and their families at The Mustard Tree MacMillan Support Centre at Derriford Hospital, Plymouth
We provided sponsorship to the ‘Have a Ball & Chain with Sparksy & Co’ team to take part in the 25th Dartmoor Charity Jailbreak on April 19th 2008. The idea of the jailbreak is for teams leave HM Prison, Princetown at 10.30am and travel as far as possible without spending any money. The team managed to get to Brunei and even enjoyed free business class flights there courtesy of Royal Brunei Air!

Canonteign Falls 220ft Charity Absail - 29th April 2006

A group of our office & garage staff took part in a Charity absail. Each individual had to absail down through the waterfall (which is the highest waterfall in England)
Raised money for The Anthony Nolan Trust

'Down In One Day' Charity Scaffold Challenge - 19th August 2006

A group of 33 of our scaffolders and employees worked on a Saturday in a challenge to strip the whole of the scaffolding on St Peters Church, Wyndham Square in Plymouth which was over 40m high and took 3-4weeks to erect. The employees taking part then donated their days wages to charity (the monies raised were combined with the total from the lands end to john o’groats walk) The challenge was covered by our local newspaper The Herald.
Raised money (50/50) for The Breast Cancer Campaign & St Lukes Hospice.

Lands End to John O'Groats Charity Walk (1,300 miles) - August 20th 2006 to October 6th 2006

(Carried out by the share holder Trevor Chinn, Scaffolder Grant Rogers and Grants dog Meg!)

Raised money (50/50) for The Breast Cancer Campaign & St Lukes Hospice
The challenge started off with a launch party at Plymouth’s T2 which raised extra funds with a charity auction (prizes being donated by local Plymouth businesses.)
The walk was covered by Plymouth Herald newspaper & access industry website Vertikal
Amount Raised: £19,192.00

Stage for St Lukes Hospice Midnight Walk - Saturday 5th July 2008

We erected free of charge a stage at Mountbatten, Plymouth, required for the ‘warm up’ at the beginning of the St Lukes Midnight walk 2008. 1000 women took part in the walk which aimed to raise a massive £120,000 for the hospice.

Annual Charity Golf Day 
LTC’s Directors hold a Charity Golf day once a year at the Elfordleigh Golf Club in Plymouth. Clients and associates of LTC are invited to take part and prizes are awarded  for  ‘Closest To The Pin’, ‘Winning Team’ and ‘Worst Dressed Golfer’!
Monies raised are donated to St Lukes Hospice, Plymouth

  Charity bike ride

Bike Rack at Mountbatten for St Lukes Hospice 
We continue to provide annually , free of charge, a bike enclosure including racks and fencing for 200 bikes at Mountbatten, Plymouth –  for the Plymouth Triathlon Club

Cotswold Way Sponsored Walk - 4th to 8th September 2008
A team of five HBG Western region staff took part in the 2008 charity challenge which involved walking the length of the Cotswold Way, a 102 mile trek in 5 days to raise money for the Childrens Hospice South West 'Precious Lives Appeal'. LTC Sponsored the team towards the event

Sponsorships

Plymouth Argyle Youth Sponsorship

LTC has agreed a 2 year sponsorship deal with Plymouth Argyle for their Youth team. The deal will see "LTC GROUP87 LTD" advertising on all home and away kits. In addition all training kits etc will have the 3 divisions advertised ie LTC Specialist Scaffolding, LTC Powered Access and LTC Training Services. The deal will also include LTC branding in the stadium, on the team mini bus, programmes etc. The partnering arrangement is the first separate kit sponsorship deal for the Youth team in the clubs history and it will allow additional funds for the club to help develope players for the future.

  

Luke

Luke Holman 
We have sponsored Luke since he was 8 years old (Now 16) to provide Taekwondo training and competition equipment and help fund the costs for entering high profile competitions around the world.
He has been very successful in his Taekwondo career so far achieving 57 Gold, 4 Silver and 3 Bronze awards at various competitions he has attended including the following:
-He has won Gold and become the National Chung Do Kwan Taekwondo Champion most recently in March 2008 and also previously in 2002,2004,2005,2006
- He won Gold at the Korean Open in 2002
-Luke recently won Gold at the UTF British International Open in London
-He has twice attended the Olympic training camp in Egypt training with the Egyptian Olympic and National Taekwondo team.

Midas English Senior Open Golf 
We supported sponsorship of the Midas English Senior Golf Open £10,000.00
The event took place on the Jack Nicklaus course at St Mellion International in Cornwall
The event was won for the 3rd time by England’s Carl Mason.

Elburton Villa Football Club
We have provided sponsorship/ funding for the club who play at Haye Road in Elburton for approximately six years, helping the club upgrade their facilities, providing football kits, training clothes etc. This year (Season 2009/2010) we are sponsoring the first team who play in the South West Penninsula League Premier Division, the second team who play in the Plymouth and West Devon Premier League and the Under 11’s who play in Devon Junior and Minor League.

Woodford Colts Football Club 
For two years we have sponsored the Under 16’s team of the Woodford Colts. The sponsorship provides  training tops for the team.

Lord Mayor's Day Parade - 20th May 2006

We took part in the Plymouth Lord Mayors Day Parade and made a ‘Working at Height Safely’ themed lorry. We also made goodie bags containing keyrings, advertising bugs, caps, pens etc and gave them to the children
